Frankfort, Ky. (April 17, 2018) – Booz Allen Hamilton, Inc., Blue & Co., LLC and Peel & Holland were ranked the 2018 Best Places to Work in Kentucky by the Kentucky Chamber of Commerce and the Kentucky Society for Human Resource Management (KYSHRM).
During the 14th Annual Best Places to Work in Kentucky awards ceremony, presented by Lifestyle Health Plans, nearly 1,300 attendees joined in celebrating the 100 Kentucky companies who were recognized for their commitment to focus, measure and move their workplace environments toward excellence. The list of companies who made the 2018 list was announced in January and the ranked list was announced on stage at the awards ceremony. The 100 winning companies participated in a comprehensive survey process and were then ranked according to those results. The list consists of three categories: small companies of 15-149 employees, medium companies of 150-499 employees and large companies consisting of more than 500 employees (categories based on number of U.S. employees, only Kentucky employees surveyed). Winner of the large company category, Booz Allen Hamilton, Inc. has been at the forefront of strategy and technology consulting for more than 100 years. Today, Booz Allen is a leading provider of management consulting, technology and engineering services to the U.S. government in defense, intelligence and civil markets, and to major corporations and not-for- profit organizations as well. Blue & Co., LLC, the top winner in the medium category, is a regional public accounting firm with thirteen offices in Kentucky, Ohio and Texas. Founded in 1970, Blue & Co., LLC provides business consulting and certified public accounting services to businesses and their leadership teams. The firm’s steady growth has enabled it to successfully serve businesses in diverse and thriving industries including healthcare, manufacturing, not-for-profit and governmental. The number one small company and first-time winner is Peel & Holland. With a history spanning 94 years, Peel & Holland partners with Kentucky businesses to meet their property, casualty, workers’ compensation and employee benefits needs. The Kentucky Society for Human Resource Management (KYSHRM) state council and the Kentucky Chamber of Commerce are proud to host the Best Places initiative, as both organizations support the value of workplace excellence as a key component in moving Kentucky forward. "HR professionals are the CEO's strategic partner in creating an adaptive advantage for Kentucky's employers. The Best Places to Work in Kentucky program recognizes those employers who set an exemplary standard of excellence for both employee engagement and business success,” said KYSHRM Chair, Scott McGarvey, SHRM-SCP, SPHR. According to Kentucky Chamber President and CEO, Dave Adkisson, “In order to help Kentucky’s economy thrive, we must be able to educate and employ current Kentuckians, while also creating workplaces that attract talent from outside of the state.” For more details about Best Places to Work in Kentucky, visit bestplacestoworkky.com

We're seeking a Draftsperson to join our Newark, NJ office in support of various civil engineering projects. Visit our Careers Tab for more detailed information and apply today: Careers - NJ Draftsperson On May 21, 2007, we opened our doors at our 1100 sq. ft. office/warehouse space on Gold Rush Drive in Lexington, Kentucky.
Ten years ago, our Vice President Don Wilkins went to work at the new office for the very first time while our President Amy Wilkins was working on getting things set up from home (and juggling a 1 and 2 year old and puppy). Later that morning, we received a call from Stantec - it was our lucky day! Someone had managed to get their house boat stuck on Dam 4 and we were being called in to assist in the recovery effort which ended up paying $919.50. We were thrilled to be off to such a great start! While there has been many ups and downs since that first day, we would like to take a minute and look at where we are today. We have locations in Nicholasville, KY; Rosedale, MD; Newark, NJ; and New York, NY with over 50 employees. Our staff's dedication to providing exceptional quality of service while always maintaining safety has been key to our success. We would not be here without all of their hard work, long hours, and commitment to safety and excellence. We would like to thank our employees, clients, and community for your dedication and loyalty to Marine Solutions - it is greatly appreciated. We look forward to what we can accomplish together in the next 10 years! Need a hydrographic survey? Does a structure have a scour problem? Do you need dredge quantities? Would you like a 3D model of a submerged structure? If your answer is "yes" to any of these questions we can help with our multibeam sonar! Multibeam surveys offer considerable advantages over traditional single beam surveys. Instead of running intermittent lines with a single sonar beam and interpolating depths between the lines, multibeams use a swath of hundreds of beams to provide “100 percent” coverage of the seafloor. This provides for identification and visualization of underwater objects, hazards to navigations and other features. Marine Solutions owns and operates a high resolution mutibeam sonar. Our sonar is coupled with an Applanix POS MV providing accurate attitude, heading, heave, position, and velocity data, using the latest Inertially-Aided Real-Time Kinematic (IARTK)/GPS technology. Additionally, positioning data is post processed using observations from the CORS Network to provide the most accurate positioning information available. Marine Solutions is using a variety of collection and processing software packages to gather and process survey data. The software used can provide the data in all common formats that a client may desire and provides interactive models of survey data that can be viewed using free software. Some features of our system include:
