Marine Solutions Employees to Lead Short Course and Present Paper at PORTS '19

Marine Solutions is thrilled to sponsor PORTS '19, a conference hosted by the American Society of Civil Engineers' Coasts, Oceans, Ports, and Rivers Institute held in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania September 15-18. ​This conference draws an audience of port, waterway, harbor, and marine professionals together to share their knowledge and learn from the experience of others.

Sean Chapman, PE - Vice President of Engineering Services
At this event, Marine Solutions' Vice President of Engineering Services, Sean Chapman, PE will serve as an instructor for the Inspection, Testing, and Rehabilitation of Waterfront Structures Short Course on September 15. This course is intended to help:
  • Understand industry best practices for the professional engineering inspection and assessment of waterfront facilities - including above and below water;
  • Develop, scope, and solicit facility inspections and assessments;
  • Discuss nondestructive testing (NDT) and partially destructive testing (PDT) methods, which aid in the assessment and rehabilitation of facility assessments; and
  • Determine appropriate rehabilitation techniques.

Zach Usselton - Project Engineer
Also, one of Marine Solutions' Project Engineers, Zach Usselton will be presenting a paper on September 16 at 4:30 pm on Extending the Service Life of Mooring Cells. This paper will describe common observed deterioration, important considerations for repairs versus replacement, including cost, service life, and the ability of the structure to meet the demand of facility operations, and common methods and best practices for the repair of mooring cells.
