Marine Solutions serves as the underwater contractor to Trumbull Construction for the installation of permanent scour protection on the downstream side of the back channel on the Ohio River in Pittsburgh, PA.   The scour protection measures consist of grading the slope, placing bedding stone, and installing grout filled bags downstream of the existing dam for six individual bays.  A new cast-in-place apron will also be formed to tie the scour protection into the existing apron.  During the project, approximately 10,000 cubic yards of grout will be placed in over 200 individual grout bags.  Marine Solutions has supplied crews in excess of 14 people working both day and night shifts with no lost time for over 3 years.
